Reduce JPG size for photo and signature slots

Reduce JPG size is the photo-side twin of reduce PDF size. SSC, UPSC, NEET, and most job portals want a JPEG photograph in a tight KB window (often 20–50 KB) plus a pixel range. A 2 MB phone photo will fail even if the face is perfect.

This page outputs JPEG and defaults to 50 KB. Use Custom for 20 KB, 30 KB, or whatever the live form prints. After reducing, check width × height in your gallery; some forms reject a file that is small in bytes but outside the pixel window.

Do not reduce a full marksheet as JPG unless the field asks for an image. Certificates are usually PDF — see reduce PDF size to 200 KB. Convert a PDF page first with PDF to JPG only when the slot is JPEG.

What you get

Exact size targeting

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce JPG size to 50 KB or 20 KB?

Upload the JPEG, set the 50 KB preset or Custom (for example 20 KB), and download the result. We lower JPEG quality and, if needed, dimensions until the file is at or under that cap.

Will a reduced JPG be accepted on SSC or NEET photo fields?

It will meet the byte cap if you match the number on the form. You must still match any required pixel dimensions and background rules from the official notice. This tool does not crop a passport photo for you.

Is it safe to upload my file here?

Uploads are stored outside the public web root, addressed by unguessable names, and deleted automatically after one hour. We do not use your documents for advertising, training, or sharing, and download links expire so a leaked URL stops working.

Can I reduce PNG here?

Yes. PNG is accepted and saved as JPG on this page so the output matches JPEG-only form fields.

Why is my JPG still too large?

Very large pixel dimensions need a resize, not only quality 80. We downsample in steps. If the image is already a tiny, heavily compressed JPEG, there may be nothing left to remove — you will see the smallest file we could produce.

Is reduce JPG size free?

Yes. There is no signup, no watermark, and files are deleted after one hour, subject to a fair-use rate limit.
