How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Drop a PDF or tap to browse. We check it is a real PDF before any processing starts.

  2. 2

    Compress

Ghostscript walks quality presets, then image DPI, until the file is at or under your target.

  3. 3

    Download

Grab a time-limited link. The copy on our disk is scheduled for deletion within an hour.

NEET and counselling PDFs: readable marksheets under a byte cap

NEET UG (NTA) and later MCC/state counselling portals ask for photographs, signatures, thumb impressions, and academic documents. Photos are usually JPG. Class 10/12 marksheets, category certificates, and PwD documents may be PDF or JPG depending on the board and the counselling authority. Each slot has its own KB/MB number.

A marksheet is a high-stakes scan: officers must read subject-wise marks. Defaulting to a brutal 50 KB target is how digits turn into smudges. This page starts at 200 KB — a typical document cap — and you should only go smaller if that field’s instructions say so. If counselling allows 200–300 KB per document, stay there.

Scan marksheets on a flat bed or a well-lit scanner app, crop to the page, and avoid filters that bleach watermarks. Compress, then zoom in on the marks table before you upload. Keep the original until seat allotment is finished; you may need a cleaner copy for a college that asks for email attachments rather than the counselling locker.

What you get

Exact size targeting

Pick 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB, or a custom cap. The compressor aims for that ceiling, not a vague “smaller file”.

Text stays readable

We downsample images before touching text. Form fields, Hindi/English body copy, and signatures stay sharp enough for exam portals.

Auto-delete in 1 hour

Uploads live outside the web root and are deleted by a scheduled job after 60 minutes. We do not keep copies for training or ads.

Works on any device

No install, no email gate. Compress from a phone while filling SSC, UPSC, railway, banking, or NEET forms.

Batch-ready pipeline

The MVP processes one file at a time. The same job path is ready to drop onto a database-backed queue when traffic needs it.

No watermark

The downloaded PDF is yours. We do not stamp pages or wrap the file in a branded cover.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress a PDF to exactly 200 KB?

Choose the 200 KB preset (or open the dedicated 200 KB page), upload your PDF, and download the result. CompressPdfs Online runs Ghostscript quality presets and, if needed, stepwise image downsampling until the file is at or under 200 KB. If the PDF is already smaller than 200 KB, you get the original back unchanged.

Can I compress a PDF for NEET application or counselling?

Yes. Use this page for PDF documents listed in the NTA information bulletin or your counselling board’s document list. Match each field’s file type (PDF vs JPG) and size; do not assume every slot is 200 KB.

Will compressing hide watermarks on a marksheet?

Compression can fade a light watermark if you push DPI too low. Start at 200 KB or 500 KB. If a watermark disappears, use a larger cap or a greyscale rescan rather than adding contrast filters that look like tampering.

Will compressing reduce PDF quality?

Compressing a PDF can reduce image sharpness, but text-heavy forms usually stay fully readable. CompressPdfs Online lowers embedded image DPI only as far as needed to hit your target, and it will not silently destroy a file: if the size still cannot be met, you get the smallest safe result plus a clear message.

Is it safe to upload my PDF here?

Uploads are stored outside the public web root, addressed by unguessable names, and deleted automatically after one hour. We do not use your documents for advertising, training, or sharing, and download links expire so a leaked URL stops working.

Are NEET photo rules the same as PDF rules?

No. NEET photograph, signature, and postcard-size photo fields are JPEG with their own dimensions and KB windows. This tool is for PDF documents such as certificates when the brochure allows PDF.

Can I use the same compressed marksheet for every counselling round?

Often yes if size and type still match. Re-read the current round’s instructions; some state rounds want additional pages (domicile, nativity) that must be merged or uploaded separately.
