Drop a PDF or tap to browse. We check it is a real PDF before any processing starts.
Ghostscript walks quality presets, then image DPI, until the file is at or under your target.
Grab a time-limited link. The copy on our disk is scheduled for deletion within an hour.
Government application servers validate file type, page content, and byte size. A perfectly valid PDF that is 40 KB over the advertised limit is still a failed submission. Notifications for SSC, UPSC, railways, banking, defence civilian posts, and state PSCs typically allow photographs as JPEG and certificates as PDF, with PDF caps clustering at 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, and 500 KB.
The failure pattern is consistent: candidates photograph marksheets with a phone, the scanner app exports 4–12 MB, and the form shows a generic “invalid file” message. The file is not invalid. It is too large, sometimes with the wrong colour space or extra blank pages. CompressPdfs Online lets you pick the cap the notice printed, rather than hoping a generic “strong compression” preset lands in range.
Before you upload to the portal: (1) read the size next to that specific field, not a different field’s photo limit; (2) confirm PDF vs JPG; (3) compress here; (4) open the result and verify seals, names, and dates; (5) rename the file exactly as the notice says. Keep the original until you see the application status as submitted.
Pick 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB, or a custom cap. The compressor aims for that ceiling, not a vague “smaller file”.
We downsample images before touching text. Form fields, Hindi/English body copy, and signatures stay sharp enough for exam portals.
Uploads live outside the web root and are deleted by a scheduled job after 60 minutes. We do not keep copies for training or ads.
No install, no email gate. Compress from a phone while filling SSC, UPSC, railway, banking, or NEET forms.
The MVP processes one file at a time. The same job path is ready to drop onto a database-backed queue when traffic needs it.
The downloaded PDF is yours. We do not stamp pages or wrap the file in a branded cover.

Competitor rows describe publicly advertised product behaviour at a high level (presets vs exact-size targeting, free-tier caps, and cloud accounts). Plans change — verify on each vendor’s site before you rely on a limit.
Choose the 200 KB preset (or open the dedicated 200 KB page), upload your PDF, and download the result. CompressPdfs Online runs Ghostscript quality presets and, if needed, stepwise image downsampling until the file is at or under 200 KB. If the PDF is already smaller than 200 KB, you get the original back unchanged.
Many Indian government job forms allow PDF documents of 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, or 500 KB depending on the field. Photos and signatures are often separate JPEG limits (for example 20–50 KB). Always follow the size printed next to the field you are filling.
Compressing a PDF can reduce image sharpness, but text-heavy forms usually stay fully readable. CompressPdfs Online lowers embedded image DPI only as far as needed to hit your target, and it will not silently destroy a file: if the size still cannot be met, you get the smallest safe result plus a clear message.
Uploads are stored outside the public web root, addressed by unguessable names, and deleted automatically after one hour. We do not use your documents for advertising, training, or sharing, and download links expire so a leaked URL stops working.
Yes. Railway CEN, IBPS/SBI specialist uploads, and state PSC document modules use the same PDF-plus-kilobyte pattern. Choose the preset that matches that form’s help text.
If the notice specifies A4, export or scan at A4. This compressor does not change page size; it reduces bytes. Rotate pages that are sideways before you upload to the portal.
Portals also reject encrypted PDFs, PDFs with JavaScript, wrong filenames, extra pages, or files whose extension does not match the payload. Unlock the PDF, keep a simple file name without special characters, and match the required page count.
