How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP. We check the image header, not just the extension.

  2. 2

    Reduce

We step JPEG quality and dimensions down until the file is at or under the target.

  3. 3

    Download

Get the smaller image with a time-limited link. Auto-delete in one hour.

Reduce image size without guessing a quality slider

Reduce image size is what you need for exam photographs, signatures, and “upload a screenshot” fields that reject anything over 20–200 KB. Shrinking a PNG in a photo app often still leaves you over the cap because dimensions never changed.

This tool steps JPEG quality and, if needed, pixel dimensions until the file is at or under the target (default 100 KB). PNG sources may be saved as JPEG when that is the only way to hit a tiny cap — we say so on the result panel.

Passport-style photos belong here. Full A4 scans belong in reduce PDF size. For JPEG-only searches see reduce JPG size.

What you get

Files sit outside the web root and are purged on a schedule. No training, no ads.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce image size online for an exam form?

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP, pick the KB cap printed on the form (often 20–50 KB for photos), and download the reduced image. Then confirm pixel size if the notice also lists dimensions.

Will reducing image size make a face unusable?

Very small caps (under 20 KB) can soften faces. Start at the largest size the field allows. If the photo must match the exam-day camera, do not crush it further than the notice requires.

Is it safe to upload my file here?

Uploads are stored outside the public web root, addressed by unguessable names, and deleted automatically after one hour. We do not use your documents for advertising, training, or sharing, and download links expire so a leaked URL stops working.

Is this the same as reduce PDF size?

No. Image size reduction works on photographs. PDF size reduction works on documents. Exam forms almost always keep those as separate fields with different limits.

Which formats can I upload?

JPEG, PNG, and WebP are accepted for image compress. HEIC/HEIF: use the free HEIC to JPG converter (browser-side, no server upload), then compress the JPG if needed.

Do you add a watermark?

No. The reduced image has no watermark and no account requirement.
