Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 September 2026. By using CompressPdfs Online on localhost you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not upload files.
The service
CompressPdfs Online provides free, automated file utilities — compress a PDF to a target size, convert between PDF and Word/Excel/PowerPoint/text/HTML, merge, split, rotate, reorder, delete or extract pages, add page numbers, reduce image size, add a visible e-signature or watermark, set or remove a password — on an “as is” basis. Output quality depends on your source file. We do not guarantee that any destination (SSC, UPSC, NTA, a university, a bank, an employer) will accept the result. Open the file and confirm it meets that destination’s rules before you submit it.
What we explicitly do not offer: OCR of scanned pages, password cracking or recovery, legally binding digital signature certificates (our e-sign writes a visible name and date, it is not a Class-3 DSC or UIDAI eSign), and any form-filling or application-submission service.
Acceptable use
You may use the tools for files you own or are authorised to process. You must not:
- upload malware, exploit payloads, or files crafted to attack the server or other visitors;
- upload content that is illegal to possess or distribute, or use the tools to alter, disguise, or conceal a forged, fraudulent, or otherwise illegal document;
- upload another person’s identity documents, bank statements, or confidential records without their permission;
- attempt to reach files, tokens, or admin areas that are not yours, or to probe, scrape, or reverse the service;
- run automated bulk jobs beyond the published fair-use rate limit, or work around it with proxies.
We may block requests, refuse a file, or rate-limit an IP address to keep the service available. Serious abuse may be reported to the relevant authorities.
Password-protected files: known password only
The unlock, remove-password, PDF-to-Text, and similar tools decrypt a file using the password you type. That is the whole mechanism. We do not crack, guess, brute-force, or bypass PDF encryption, and we will not do so on request — including for e-Aadhaar, bank and passbook statements, Form 16, CAMS statements, or insurance documents. A wrong password returns an error, nothing more. By submitting a password you confirm you are entitled to open that file. If you have lost the password, we cannot help; ask the issuer.
Files, retention, and no warranty
Uploads and results are stored outside the public web root and deleted by a scheduled job after roughly one hour. Download links are signed and expire. The service may be unavailable, a conversion may fail, and a compression target may not be reachable for your file. We are not liable for a missed exam or application deadline, a rejected submission, corrupted output, or data loss. Keep your own originals. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and our aggregate liability to you is limited to zero, matching what you paid.
Intellectual property
Site copy, layout, design, and code are owned by CompressPdfs Online. Your files and documents remain entirely yours; we claim no licence over them beyond running the operation you requested. Blog posts may be quoted with attribution and a link.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions: contact us or email hi@compresspdfs.online.
