Drop a PDF or tap to browse. We check it is a real PDF before any processing starts.
Ghostscript walks quality presets, then image DPI, until the file is at or under your target.
Grab a time-limited link. The copy on our disk is scheduled for deletion within an hour.
Staff Selection Commission applications split photographs and signatures (usually JPEG with tight KB limits) from supporting documents that may be PDF. Candidates mix those rules and try to upload a 2 MB certificate PDF into a field that only accepts 200 KB — or they crush a photo until the face no longer matches the camera copy at the exam centre.
Use this page for PDF annexures (category certificates, disability certificates, essential qualification proofs) when the SSC module lists a PDF cap. Default targeting here is 200 KB, which covers a large share of document fields; switch the preset row if your current notice prints 100 KB or 500 KB. Photo and signature JPEG limits are not the same tool — do not convert a passport photo to PDF unless the form asks for PDF.
After compression, check that the name and roll-related details on the certificate still match your application spelling. SSC document scrutiny later in the process can still reject a blurry seal even if the online form accepted the bytes. Keep print-ready originals for the DV stage.
Pick 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB, or a custom cap. The compressor aims for that ceiling, not a vague “smaller file”.
We downsample images before touching text. Form fields, Hindi/English body copy, and signatures stay sharp enough for exam portals.
Uploads live outside the web root and are deleted by a scheduled job after 60 minutes. We do not keep copies for training or ads.
No install, no email gate. Compress from a phone while filling SSC, UPSC, railway, banking, or NEET forms.
The MVP processes one file at a time. The same job path is ready to drop onto a database-backed queue when traffic needs it.
The downloaded PDF is yours. We do not stamp pages or wrap the file in a branded cover.

Competitor rows describe publicly advertised product behaviour at a high level (presets vs exact-size targeting, free-tier caps, and cloud accounts). Plans change — verify on each vendor’s site before you rely on a limit.
Choose the 200 KB preset (or open the dedicated 200 KB page), upload your PDF, and download the result. CompressPdfs Online runs Ghostscript quality presets and, if needed, stepwise image downsampling until the file is at or under 200 KB. If the PDF is already smaller than 200 KB, you get the original back unchanged.
Yes. Use this SSC page (or the matching KB preset) for PDF documents the application asks for. Follow the official notice for whether a field wants JPG or PDF and for the exact kilobyte cap printed beside it.
SSC photograph and signature fields are typically JPEG with their own KB ranges (often tens of kilobytes). PDF size limits apply only to document slots. Compressing a photo as a PDF will not satisfy a JPG field.
Compressing a PDF can reduce image sharpness, but text-heavy forms usually stay fully readable. CompressPdfs Online lowers embedded image DPI only as far as needed to hit your target, and it will not silently destroy a file: if the size still cannot be met, you get the smallest safe result plus a clear message.
Uploads are stored outside the public web root, addressed by unguessable names, and deleted automatically after one hour. We do not use your documents for advertising, training, or sharing, and download links expire so a leaked URL stops working.
Online upload and later DV are different steps. The portal needs a file under the advertised size; DV officers need a clear original or a print that shows seals and text. Do not discard originals after a successful upload.
This site cannot extend SSC deadlines. Compress files before you open the live form, keep them in a folder named by field, and upload in one sitting so you are not racing the clock.
